Escaped Pet Python Found in Seven Hills Drain

A client found this small python under the grate of a storm water drain in their garden. Children’s Pythons are not found within the Brisbane region and so our catcher immediately knew it had to be an escaped pet. This small species is local to more arid parts of northern and central Australia. Its closest relative that lives in some parts of South-East Queensland is the Spotted Python.

As it was an escaped captive we tried to find its owner before handing it over to the Department of Environment and Science.
