The less common ‘Blue Phase’ Common Tree Snake

This species is extremely variable in colour with individuals often being green, yellow, blue or even almost black. Previously referred to by the common name the ‘Green Tree Snake’, this specimen makes it clear that was a misnomer. Our snake catcher Brandon removed this one from a client’s pantry in Calamvale. The ‘blue phase’ is highly sought after by reptile enthusiasts and photographers.

This species is non venomous and hunts lizards and frogs during the day. They are adept climbers and will quickly scale trees and buildings.
