This species has clear rough keels along their scales, a key feature when trying to identify them. We recommend keeping your distance from all snakes as Keelback do look similar tot he venomous Rough Scaled Snake.
This species is well known for eating frogs and are also more capable of eating the poisonous introduced Cane Toad without severe ill effects. They are usually found near water and are occasionally removed from clients’ homes and businesses.
