Black Snake has a Feast of Frog
The Red Bellied Black Snake is well known for eating frogs, and will also feast upon lizards, rodents and other snakes. They are venomous but will often consume frogs whole while they’re still alive! This species unfortunately often succumbs to the poison of the introduced Cane Toad.
The Red Bellied Black Snake actually gives birth to live young rather than laying eggs. The young scatter as soon as they are born, and no parental care is given by the female.
